Commack Retired Teachers Scholarship
On Thursday, June 3, 2021, Commack High School held their annual Awards and Scholarship Evening. This year, it was an in-person assembly but it was split into two sessions which allowed for social distancing. Once again, we gave two scholarships.
Our first scholarship was awarded to Gianna Trotta. She really impressed us with her hard work and her commitment to helping others. Gianna volunteered at her church, was in the Girls Scouts and was involved with an organization called Friends of Karen, where she worked to support critically ill children and their families. She will be attending University of South Carolina and hopes to become a lawyer.
Our second scholarship went to Jake Trinchetta. He was also a very hard-working student who was involved with many community and school activities. Jake especially loved being part of the TOP Soccer program which trained athletes with different types of intellectual, emotional and physical disabilities. He hopes to be able to bring this program to Ithaca College in the fall.
